Refurbishment of Jericho transferred water scheme

 

Project description

The project entailed the upgrading of the water pipeline feeding into a 1.2ML reservoir in Jericho. The water was fed from boreholes through a pipeline and ultimately fed into the Jericho Reservoir.

Project objectives

  • To improve water supply delivery and pressure in the bulk supply system to ensure adequate water supply to the existing reservoir and ultimately the people of Jericho village.
  • To address the issues of illegal connections into the system by ensuring adequate supply to all villagers.
  • To provide employment opportunities within the project area by using labour intensive construction methods where feasible.

Employment created

30 people were employed on the project.
