Tshepisong network strengthening
Tshepisong network strengthening
Project description
Tshepisong’s 22kV electrification network was experiencing overload trips due to the overloading of the three feeders suppling Tshepisong township and the Leratong informal settlement. Calliper was appointed to advise on the de-loading of the feeders by designing and implementing a fourth feeder to Leratong settlement, ensuring safe operation of the Tshepisong electrical network and connection of the entire network through an existing but unused switching station.
Project objective
This project focused on finding and designing de-loading options for the three feeders supplying Leratong informal settlement from the Tshepisong electrification network. The project also sought to find connection options for feeding Tshepisong’s 22kV electrical network through a previously constructed 22kV switching station. This project resulted in the network strengthening of the overall Tshepisong electrification network.
